"Amphoras, vases, jugs — vessels of the past. From century to century, archaeologists lift them from the depths of the Earth, from the seabed, studying the history of civilization through them. These vessels are thousands of years old. They are immortal.
Polyethylene and cellophane bags — vessels of the present. Daily companions of humans. Amphoras of our time. I immortalize them in ceramics.
I admire the elegance of a white bag, its airiness. In thousands of years, we will no longer be here. But a bag in ceramics, like its ancestors—amphoras and vases—will find its way into the hands of future people. And they will remember us."
