"For me, this performance is an opportunity to be with those I love. It is the most personal thing I have ever done in the theater," — says Ingeborga Dapkūnaitė about her work.
This intimate piece is the story of the esteemed European actress Ingeborga Dapkūnaitė’s family and her Lithuanian roots in the 20th century. "This is the most private thing I've ever shared on stage," Ingeborga affirms.
In just over an hour, audiences are invited into Ingeborga’s personal world—a journey through her family and her places of memory: Vilnius, Lithuania, her childhood home. Together with the director, she carefully reconstructs stories from her youth—about her grandmother and grandfather, her aunt, her mother, a meteorologist, and her father, a diplomat. The performance brings to life a mosaic of moments—both humorous and poignant, tender yet simple—highlighting the events that shaped her life. From the pride of her first limited-edition sandals, to her joining Komsomol, and walks through wintery Vilnius, the performance transforms minor details into vivid symbols of an era. Throughout, memories of family Christmas celebrations serve as a guiding motif, weaving warmth and tradition into the narrative.
The premiere took place as part of, and with the support of, the "Territory" festival, staged at the Voronezh Chamber Theatre and the Small Stage of the National Theatre in Moscow. Duration: 1 hour 10 minutes.
